Col. J. E. Sawyer: 1st Concrete Passenger Vessel

Built in 1919, these Army Quartermaster river steamers were soon decommissioned for private commercial use. Expert Colin Brookes.mSNAME stated, "This hull was concrete at the very base, with the rest of the hull and superstructure of wood construction."
