BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATION FOR ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT (ADU)

1. PROPERTY OWNER INFORMATION
Address of Property Owner-This could differ from the address of where the construction will commence. **Property Owner listed must match Charleston County Tax records for a permit to be issued."




2. CONTRACTOR/BUILDER INFORMATION
SC State Law requires a licensed SC Contractor to complete this application and obtain the building permit. If the job is still out for bid, please list contractor as TBD and input your information. A building permit will not be issued until an application from a licensed contractor is submitted.




3. PROPERTY INFORMATION - SITE ADDRESS OF PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION
ALL SUBMITTALS MUST HAVE A FINAL RECORDED PLAT. **No Applications will be accepted under Preliminary Plat Status**. Blank addresses and street numbers of "0" are not acceptable. Please have complete Street Address and TMS number at the time of application. If you need further assistance please contact Susan Bettelli in our Planning Department at 843-884-1229 prior to making application to avoid delays and a possible rejection

This project may require two permits to be issued: a stormwater management permit and a building permit. You are required to break out the job cost between the two permits. Please complete the two fields below. Failure to leave one blank may result in your application being rejected. If this is an attached ADU, where no soil disturbance is required, then please just complete the one field.
