  1. Professional Development Training: Post Construction BMP Inspector Certification

    The Post-Construction BMP Inspector program, was developed by our Education Partners to train professionals in methods and strategies for conducting routine and thorough inspections of stormwater management practices. Areas to be covered include technical elements of stormwater management practice, function, and performance, and scheduled maintenance tasks required to ensure these installed practices are working as intended. Stormwater BMPs to be covered include wet and dry ponds, stormwater wetlands, bioretention and infiltration practices, manufactured devices, underground detention, swales and buffers, parking lot BMPs and permeable materials, rainwater harvesting, and green roofs. As a "hybrid" course that combines online and face-to-face learning, we will incorporate self-paced lectures, discussion, quizzes, and other web-based methods of participant-instructor interaction. A virtual webinar-style interactive half-day field day will be included.

The Master Pond Manager - Letter of Completion course is designed to allow private pond owners, such as a homeowner association member, the opportunity to gain content knowledge in one of the pond management areas without the rigor of the full achievement program. There is no exam or continuing education requirements associated with the Letter of Completion track

  3. Workshop: Low Impact Development Design in Coastal SC: Challenging Sites

    April 7, 2021, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Virtual Training

    Join our Education partners for this training session. This workshop is intended for engineers, landscape architects, stormwater staff, and other design professionals. 1.5 hours of AICP credit and CEUs or PDHs available. This 2-hour training will include: • Presentations from professional engineers with the Center for Watershed Protection. • Barriers to LID implementation using the Coastal LID manual and other available resources • Design strategies for sites with poorly draining soil, high water table and/or high impervious cover • Specifics for design practices for LID in challenging conditions • Coastal SC case studies from Surculus and Robinson Design Engineers This training is hosted by the ACE Basin NERR and North Inlet – Winyah Bay NERR Coastal Training Programs, Clemson Extension, and S.C. Sea Grant Consortium. It is sponsored by the Ashley Cooper Stormwater Education Consortium and Lowcountry Stormwater Partners.
