MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (April 28, 2016) – The Town of Mount Pleasant has released another capital improvement program video update, and invites residents to view the progress made on the new Town Hall. The video can be viewed in Media Center or YouTube Communications Channel.
“As the video showcases, construction is well underway,” said Lauren Sims, New Town Hall Assistant Project Manager. “Our crews are working hard to complete this project on time and on budget. Over the past six weeks, we finished pouring the slabs for all three floors. We are completing the underground electrical and plumbing rough in. We are still on schedule to finish construction in mid-2017.”
The new Town Hall will be three stories tall and constructed as a Class IV Essential Facility. It will be capable of withstanding a major storm event. The new 92,000 sqft. building will provide space for all departments, a new Council Chambers & Municipal Court, a smaller court room, a public meeting room, a Town archives center and more. The new Town Hall will also be an Energy Star Certified Facility.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding as we construct our new facility. Remember, if you are attending a meeting at Town Hall and have difficulty finding parking, there is after hours overflow parking available at the adjacent Sundrops Montessori School,” added Sims.
