MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (March 18, 2016) - The American Red Cross of Lowcountry South Carolina is inviting local residents and visitors alike to walk through homes, and gardens in historic Mount Pleasant, on Sunday, May 1, 2016, from 12 to 5 p.m.
The Old Village Home, Garden & Art Tour (starting at Edwards Park) is a once in a lifetime chance to see and learn about remarkable sites, such as the town’s first post office and a former dispensary, view unique family heirlooms, including some passed down through the generations from Arthur Middleton and his family, and take in hypnotic floral gardens while touring exclusive properties not normally open to the public
While exploring the eight properties, guests will be treated to samples of Lowcountry cuisine prepared by some of the area’s finest chefs and view Plein Air artists working in gardens, where their work will be for sale to benefit the Red Cross.
To purchase tickets to the events, visit www.redcross.org/mtphomeandgarden or call 843-764-2323 x386.
All proceeds from this event benefit the programs and services of Red Cross. In South Carolina, the American Red Cross, on average, responds to a disaster every four hours. Because of volunteers and financial assistance from the community, the Red Cross was able to help more than 10,000 individuals affected by disasters in South Carolina last year.
