MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (January 22, 2016) – The Town of Mount Pleasant yesterday held the first Code for Lunch of 2016 at Town Hall. Planning staff gave a presentation on new zoning code amendments associated with the Town’s Growth Management Plan. Attendees engaged in discussions with staff and asked questions about the new regulations and how they may apply to future developments.
The purpose of the program is to provide an in-depth review of selected building code, flood, zoning code, and land development regulations with our local professional colleagues in the engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, and construction industries. During the Code for Lunch sessions, staff reviews specific regulations in depth with attendees followed by a period of time for questions and discussion.
“The informal atmosphere and discussions provide valuable insight between staff and the professional community. This encourages a deeper connection with our local design professionals,” said Planning Director Christiane Farrell. “It allows us to better implement the vision and goals established by Town Council.”
