MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (January 25, 2016) – The Town of Mount Pleasant recently welcomed Sip, an all-day beverage dispensary and restaurant, to its thriving Urban Corridor with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Located at 1440 Ben Sawyer Boulevard, Sip joins a growing district of trendy, local businesses seizing Mount Pleasant’s growing reputation as a premier food and beverage destination.
Featuring a lengthy, yet curated menu, Sip encourages locals to begin and end their day at the new establishment. Customers will find everything from locally sourced coffees and pastries to an extensive selection of craft beer and wine.
“We are delighted to welcome Sip to Mount Pleasant,” said Mayor Linda Page. “As a small business owner myself, it’s always rewarding to see others realize their vision while addressing a market need. Sip is an excellent complement to the businesses and neighborhoods in our Urban Corridor.”
Already well known for their daily cheese and charcuterie board specials, Sip looks forward to becoming an event space of choice for wedding parties, corporate events or other medium to large group gatherings.
“We’re excited to be a part of this community,” said SIP founder, Mark DeWitt. “Supporting other local businesses is integral to our business model. For instance, many of our pastries and breads come from Saffron Bakery, our coffee from King Bean, and many of our 150 beers are local and regional crafts.”
Not only does Sip serve breakfast all day long, the new hot spot also features artisanal Paninis, as well as full coffee and dessert bars.
DeWitt, a Mount Pleasant resident, already has plans to open a second location on Folly Road in February followed by a third in Summerville in the coming months.
“We’re always excited to see businesses open, especially small, local businesses. We look forward to Sip flourishing in our community,” said Mayor Pro Tempore Gary Santos upon cutting the ribbon.
