MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (Jan. 15, 2016) - The Town of Mount Pleasant is accepting submissions for its 2016 Mayor’s Office Art Program until March 1. Each selected Mount Pleasant artists will have his or her artwork showcased at Town Hall and to be viewed for two months by citizens and community leaders.
To apply, Mount Pleasant artists must submit photos of their artwork along with the completed application. Selected artists will have their artwork displayed for two months in the Mayor’s office.
Presented by the Town of Mount Pleasant and the Culture, Arts & Pride Commission, this program aims to promote local artists, to encourage interaction between the creative community, local businesses and residents and to inspire community pride.
Moving forward into its third year, the Mayor’s Office Art Program began when Mayor Linda Page recognized an opportunity.
“My walls were just a blank canvas when I first moved into my office,” said Mayor Page. “Now we are able to raise awareness about the wonderful, creative talent we have in Mount Pleasant. I am grateful to the CAP Commission for their work and the local artists who participate.”
