The 2019 Rain barrel sale is underway! Rain barrels are a great way to reduce your personal stormwater run-off impacts and re-use your rain water. This event is offered through our Ashley Cooper Stormwater Education Consortium.
The rain barrels are made from 100% recycled plastics. They are available to residents at a discounted price through May 26. The normal retail price is $129, but through a special partnership, they are $68. This sale is part of an effort to encourage residents to conserve water resources and protect water quality. Water collected by the rain barrels can be used for flower gardens/lawns and to wash cars. By collecting and storing rain water we can minimize flooding impacts from general rain events. There will also be a limited number of rain barrels for sale on pick-up days through a first-come, first-serve basis.

Stormwater ponds provide habitat for a diversity of animal and insect life, creating birding and widlife-viewing opportunities for the neighborhood. But, how should we be managing wildlife around pond systems? And, what steps can a community take to prevent concerns?
Join Clemson Extension and the SC DNR's ACE Basin NERR Coastal Training Program as we learn about american alligators and canada geese and their presence around stormwater ponds. The Healthy Pond Series is a free discussion series for stormwater pond owners in the Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties.
