MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (February 16, 2016) – The Town of Mount Pleasant’s Economic Development Committee recently hosted an outreach meeting at Levelwing, a nationally recognized leader in analytics and digital marketing, located on Bowman Road. Mount Pleasant Mayor Linda Page and Councilman Mark Smith, along with staff, discussed the Town’s vision for the entrepreneur ecosystem and ways the Town could better serve and attract businesses like Levelwing.
“A community is only as good as its businesses,” said Mayor Page. “We’re committed to fostering opportunities for our residents to grow within the community, professionally and personally, through the recruitment and support of new and homegrown businesses.”
Levelwing, whose work boasts Super Bowl campaigns the last nine years, has received many distinctions, including being named multiple times to the Inc. 500| 5000 list of fastest-growing, private companies in America. A recipient of the Town’s Economic Development Incentive program, the company relocated to Mount Pleasant in 2012, transforming the vacant office at 913 Bowman into a mini “tech hub.” The building is now home to three distinct technology companies. “The Town is doing a good job at cultivating and listening to entrepreneurs,” said Steve Parker, Jr., co-founder of Levelwing.
Parker, no stranger to the challenges of local entrepreneurs, has mentored a number of companies in the Harbor Entrepreneur Center’s Accelerator program and is also a partner in Third Prime Capital, a capital investment fund.
“We’re committed to supporting our flourishing business community through Town’s ever-expanding incentives program, progressive initiatives, public-private collaborations and distinctive customer service,” said Town Economic Development Committee Chair, Councilman Mark Smith. The Business Outreach meeting series is designed to engage with local business leaders to better understand the challenges and opportunities they face to ensure Mount Pleasant remains unequivocally “Open for Business.”
