From the Desk of Mayor Linda Page
"It is with the profoundest regret that Mount Pleasant Town Council, staff and a stunned community join me in sending the deepest condolences to Lucy's family and the Wando High School community. We are shocked and saddened to learn about the sudden passing of a great friend to the Town. Lucy was an ambassador for students, an advocate for teachers and the champion of high school reform and collaborative leadership. She was determined to provide the highest quality education for her students. Lucy was the recipient of prestigious awards such as the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina's highest honor, and was named High School Principal of the Year by esteemed national and state organizations. The Town recognized Lucy's unwavering dedication by awarding her The Order of the Gavel, Mount Pleasant's highest honor. Lucy has touched the lives of so many with her kindness, passion, excellence and commitment to her community that we are at a loss to accept her untimely departure. We have lost a mentor, a friend and an extraordinary educator. May her legacy continue on. May God bless her and watch over her family.
With the saddest regards,"
Mayor Linda Page, Town of Mount Pleasant
