MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (October 6, 2015) - The Town of Mount Pleasant has now entered the assessment stage in the aftermath the recent historic rain event experienced state-wide. “We urge residents who have sustained damages from the severe weather to call the Building Inspection Division at (843) 884-5184,” said Building Official Lee Cave.
“We have established a very efficient but methodical permitting system for repairs. You should take temporary measures to protect your property from the elements prior to making permanent repairs. You must be aware that there will be dishonest individuals offering their services to repair roofs and homes. Check to see if they have a business license first. Make sure they get a building permit. It is for your protection from unlicensed and unqualified workers. Make sure you talk with your insurance adjuster before you authorize repairs. Be wary of “cash up front” deals,” he added.
