MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (October 5, 2015) – The Town of Mount Pleasant offices and facilities are closed today due to the inclement weather experienced recently, but town staff is hard at work performing damage assessment. Town Hall offices and facilities will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, October 6.
Municipal Court has been canceled today and will resume on Tuesday, October 6. Notices will be mailed to attendees with new court date and time. All recreation programs and games have been canceled. Garbage and trash pickup will be performed as scheduled.
“We have received 24 inches of rain during the storm event and I am glad to announce that our stormwater system performed efficiently and that we only sustained minimal flood damage,” said Mount Pleasant Town Administrator Eric DeMoura.
Town officials urge residents to stay home and avoid traveling today and warn residents to stay away from floodwaters to reduce the risks of infection and traumatic injuries.
