MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (June 1, 2015) - Get ready for a Minion laughs, courtesy of Cinebarre and the Town of Mount Pleasant on June 13 at dusk (about 8:20 p.m.) in the parking lot of the movie theater, located on Houston Northcutt Blvd. The Mount Pleasant Police Department and Cinebarre will again partner for Blue Light Movie Night and treat children and their parents to a free movie, free popcorn and a free drink.
Join them as Gru, the “world’s Greatest Villain” and his hilarious crew of mischievous minions plot to pull the craziest crime of the century: steal the moon! But when Despicable Me’s villain enlists the help of three little girls, they see in him someone nobody has ever seen, the perfect dad.
“Blue Light Movie Night is part of a series of public engagement initiatives spearheaded by the Police Department to engage the youth of our community,” said Mount Pleasant Police Chief Carl Ritchie. “From our award-winning Reading Patrol, to our Blue Light Bowling and Summer Camps, we strive to establish connections and engage the children of our community in meaningful relationships with our police officers. I would like to thank Sgt. William Mauldin, Cpl. Bill Dorfner and all the police officers involved in these programs for their commitment to our youth.”
“Despicable Me is a crowd favorite and is sure to trigger a lot of laughs,” said Sgt. Mauldin. “We would like to thank Cinebarre for being such a great community sponsor and joining forces with the Police Department on more than one occasion. Last November, Cinebarre held a Movie Night event for children in partnership with the Reading Patrol, and filled two large rooms to capacity. This spring, the event is located outdoors and we expect an even greater participation.”
