MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (March 5, 2015) - If art is “your thing” – you love to watch it, participate in it, and admire it – then be sure to attend the 19th Annual Town of Mount Pleasant ArtFest on Saturday, March 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., hosted by Mount Pleasant Towne Centre.

ArtFest includes fun FREE activities for the entire family! Hands-on arts and crafts stations will be set up by Ali’s Art Imaginarium, ArtBuzz Kids, Beaded Venus, Fear No Easel, Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry, and Gibbes Museum of Art.

The Mount Pleasant Artists Guild will present its annual juried art show. Festival favorites No Sleeves Magic and Jugglestuff return this year to amaze and delight attendees and, new this year, participants also will be entertained by Juilliard-trained mime Willie Shaw and Disney-trained stilt walker Corey Cox.

Entertainment stations will be offered by South Carolina Aquarium, Homespun Hoops and Southeast Talent Search, and everyone is sure to enjoy the sweetgrass basketry exhibit, face painting, caricature drawings, balloon artists, the Mount Pleasant Fire Truck and Mount Pleasant Police Department displays. Barnes & Noble will host story time at 11 a.m.

Christine Kohler from News 2 will be introducing a variety of live performances on the stage in front of the Palmetto Grande Theater, including Jennie Moore Elementary School Chorus, Cambridge Street Dance Academy, Alton Cox Studio, Dance Carolina, Deakins Suzuki Strings, Dance Anatomy, Smalls Institute for Music, Daniel Island Hip Hop, Musical Theater Center, Legacy Irish Dance Academy, and Encore Dance Theatre.

A huge bonus for hungry bellies: Burton’s Grill, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Qdoba and Zoe’s Kitchen will be giving away delicious samples. Additional food vendors include Charleston Festival Foods, King of Pops and Kona Ice.

“Mount Pleasant Towne Centre is thrilled to host the 19th Annual ArtFest with the Town of Mount Pleasant,” said Marketing Manager Erin Engebritson. “This is the 15th year we’ve partnered with the Town on this event. As the premiere shopping destination in Mount Pleasant, this partnership means so much to us as we love being actively involved in the community and providing a gathering place for our residents.”
