Severe Thunderstorm Warning Remains in Effect for Charleston County Until 2:45 PM

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (April 19, 2019 at 2:14 PM) - At 201 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a lineextending from 13 miles north of Indian Field to near Givhans Ferry State Park to 14 miles northwest of Edisto Beach, moving northeast at 50 mph.

HAZARD: 70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE.: Radar indicated. These thunderstorms have a history of producing wind damage.

IMPACT: Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Charleston, North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Goose
Creek, Hanahan, Moncks Corner and Walterboro.

This warning includes...
I-26 between mile markers 171 and 221.
I-526 between mile markers 11 and 31.
I-95 in South Carolina between mile markers 69 and 85.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS

A tornado watch remains in effect for the warned area. Tornadoes candevelop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Although a tornado is not immediately likely, if one is spotted act quickly and move to a place of safety inside a sturdy structure, such as a basement or small interior room.

building.
